Life is unexpected, and things happen in your or your child’s life.

What we need most during these difficult times is support and guidance, either for ourselves or for our children. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Registered Play Therapist, I will be your helping hand in guiding you through a healing journey and helping you grow into a more robust and healthier you. I will help you navigate the most complex and challenging job: parenthood. I will help you and your child communicate more effectively and learn the tools to manage their emotions and cope with life’s challenges. Let us walk this road together.

Hi I’m Natalee,

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Registered Play Therapist. I specialize in working with children 0-12. As a Registered Play Therapist, I have spent hundreds of hours accumulating knowledge and training in therapy modalities specifically related to working with children. One thing that makes me unique as a Play Therapist is that I specialize in working with children who have sensory processing, Autism, and anxiety and who have experienced trauma. I also believe that parents are an essential part of their child’s therapeutic journey. I work with parents to help them gain tools and resources to help overcome parenting challenges.

I specialize in family therapy, parent coaching, EMDR ( Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Play Therapy. I utilize therapy approaches unique and explicitly tailored to you or your child. This can be through play for children, traditional talk therapy, neuroscience-based modalities such as EMDR, and creative therapies such as art techniques, music, or sand tray. I help you or your child find the inner voice and healing that is within all of us by providing a safe place.

What is Play Therapy?

I provide play therapy to help your child work through problems and process them. Play is a child’s language; it is how they learn and communicate. When a child comes to therapy, they enter a child’s world. They will be greeted by a room full of toys, laughter, and fun. Your child will laugh and cry but also grow in confidence and ability to communicate and manage their big emotions.

Muffin, Therapy Dog In Training

Hello, my name is Muffin, and I am a Sheepdoodle. When you first meet me, I wag my tail as I get super excited about playing or getting pets and cuddles from children and adults. I love to play, and my favorite toys are balls and a Frisbee. I assist as a co-therapist in helping you feel better. I do this by comforting you through hugs and cuddles when I see you have big emotions. I look forward to meeting you, and I hope you bring some yummy treats!

Frequently Asked Questions

Fees

At this time, I do not accept insurance. However, you may request a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance for an out-of-network provider reimbursement. I cannot, however, guarantee that you will be reimbursed by your insurance company, nor will I work with your insurance company on reimbursement. You may also use your HSA or FSA contribution towards session fees.

How often should I be attending Therapy Sessions?

The frequency of whether you or your child attend sessions weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly is dependent on a case-by-case basis. When first beginning the therapeutic journey, sessions typically occur weekly. You or your child can build rapport and feel safe and comfortable diving into the present issues by attending weekly therapy sessions.

Custody and Medical Decision Making

I require consent from both parents for their child to begin therapy services with me, unless otherwise written in their divorce decree or custody papers. I may require proof of medical/mental health decision-making in the intake session.
